After the cycle design point has been fixed, off-design simulations are possible. The performance of the compressors and turbines is described by maps. These maps are scaled in such a way, that the data of the cycle design point fit to the component map data.
For simple studies you can use the standard maps that are delivered with the program. You will get a better simulation quality when you use maps that are specifically set up for the components of your engine.
You can prepare your maps for use with GasTurb (and also other cycle programs) with the programs Smooth C respectively Smooth T. You can also use maps from the component map collection.
Calculates either single points for specific operating conditions, or a series of points tracing the system from the maximum rating down to idle.
Produces data for many important operating conditions of a flight mission in one go
Observes several engine limiters simultaneously.
Analyses measurements from engine tests
Investigates effects of inlet flow distortion on compression system stability.
